Do your family and friends think it is a good idea that you are becoming a
priest? Yes, my family and friends think that is a good idea for me to study to become a priest and support me in every way.
Do you ever have any fun? What do you do in your free time? Although the schedule is very full at the seminary and there is a lot of time needed for study, we do have time to attend movies and even the occasional concert.
If you were not a priest, what do you think you would be? If I did not become a priest, I would pursue my MA and PhD in History and desire to teach History at the College level.
How many brothers and sisters do you have? I have one brother who is three years older than I am and he just recently married on November 14, 2007.
What is your favorite TV program? At the present time many of the seminarians and I am fans of the new comedy on NBC, Chuck. However, I also enjoy watching Stargate SG1 and Monk.
Who is your favorite singer or music group? My favorite music group is Led Zeppelin. Additionally, I like all different kinds of music from classical to country.
Do you ever get bored while studying to be a priest? No, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied in the seminary and there are plenty of people to hang out with when there is down time.
How is a seminary different from a regular school? Although there are academics just like there are at other colleges, in the seminary it is only one fourth of the life. There is a requirement to work around the campus and of course, we pray as a community. In the seminary, God is at the center of our life not just academics.
How often do you see your family? I get to see my family multiple times throughout the year. There is a week long vacation at the middle of each semester and the seminary gives time off during major holidays.
Can you really be happy as a priest since priests do not make much money? Yes, you can really be happy as a priest without much money because of the richness of the relationship you make in the religious community and parish outweigh material riches.
Who helped you decide to become a priest? Speaking on multiple occasions with my pastor Fr. Ken Malley and Fr. Len Plazewski helped in my discernment.
When did you decide to study to be a priest? How did you know God was
calling you to be a priest? I remember thinking about the priesthood while I was in elementary school. However, the major turning point came while I was following the death of Pope John Paul II. I greatly admired him and studied his life.
What do you think the best thing will be about being a priest? The best thing about becoming a priest is bring the sacraments to the people and assisting those in need in the community.
