2. I am a believing, practicing Catholic.
I believe in the Truths
taught by the Catholic Church. I
dutifully participate in
Mass every Sunday and on Holy Days.
3. I live and/or desire a life of service. I
have been active in my Church and community serving others.
4. I live and/or desire a life of prayer.
I sometimes attend daily Mass or make visits to the Blessed Sacrament. I
frequently make use of the Sacrament of Confession. I read the Bible and take
time for personal prayer.
5. I have a desire to be a priest.
I
am sometimes attracted to the priesthood, even though I know it involves
personal sacrifice, and I wonder if I can do it. During Mass I sometimes
imagine myself as the priest.
6. Others have told me that I would make a
good priest. Other events have pointed me toward the priesthood.
People in my life ( e . g . priests, parishioners, family members) have suggested
that I should think about the priesthood. Things keep happening that
make me think I should become a priest.
7. I am living a life of virtue.
I
know what is right and wrong according to the teaching of Jesus and his Church,
and I try my best to follow my conscience. Most people I know would say that I
am living a virtuous Christian life.
8. I have a basic human goodness.
I
am a relatively generous and unselfish person. I am generally kind and
gentle with others.
9. I am a "people person."
I have good "people skills." I am able to make friends easily, and I
enjoy being with people.
10. I am of at least average intelligence.
I perform fairly well in school. I think I could handle eight to ten years of
college-level and masters-level schooling so that I could teach and preach the
faith and morals of the Church clearly.
11. I have a good sense of humor.
I
am able to look at life light-heartedly. I am able to laugh at myself and with
others. People are attracted to me because I am a happy person.
12. I am physically, emotionally, and
psychologically stable.
I have the stability to care for others. If I have any handicaps, they
would not prevent me from doing what a priest does. I am a normally
functioning member of society.
13. I have a "priest's heart" I
feel love and compassion for others. I want what is best for every person:
to love Jesus, to live a holy life, and to go to heaven.
14. I have self-control.
I
am courteous, punctual, and composed. I can control my anger. I have a healthy
amount of personal discipline. I habitually fulfill my personal
responsibilities.
15. I have stability in my style of life.
I do not frequently change
jobs, schools, and friends for no good reason. I feel comfortable with
myself and I am basically successful in my endeavors.
16. I have a healthy psycho-sexual
orientation.
I have a normal sexual attraction
for adult females and this attraction is under the control of my will. I
do not have any sexual addictions or aberrant sexual behaviors.
17. I am a gentleman. I have good manners,
correct grammar in communication, a neat appearance and proper hygiene.
18. I can accept
failure. I do
not quit when things get tough. My self-esteem remains healthy even when
my projects and endeavors do not succeed.
19. I have zeal for the Faith.
I
love my Catholic faith and I am willing to spend myself to bring it to others.
20. I am open to the will of God in my
life.
I believe that God
has a plan for me. I truly desire to discover and follow God’s plan for my
life. I will change my own plans if God is calling me to be a priest .
